I’ve had a love affair with all things earrings since I was a child, running around the house with my moms clip-ons and a scarf as a cape.
Oversized earrings have made a tremendous comeback. Dolce and Gabbana have been paving the way for years, but the rest of the populace have finally caught up to the exotic, the fabulous, the chic oversized earrings. There’s something pretty striking about a woman who can rock great accessories.
My favorite look is a tee, a pair of jeans, booties and a great pair of oversized earrings. They make a great statement piece without you losing the luxury of comfort.

I’m loving these styles from Mango and H&M!
You can find amazing pairs at Mango, Zara, H&M etc. etc.
When it comes to dressing for fall, you have the opportunity to drag some of your more summery things into the cooler weather with you, creating fun new looks as you go. I’ve been loving mules all summer and this outfit is the perfect way to incorporate it into a put together weekend look. Capes and ponchos are a huge trend this season, and throwing it over a sweater is an easy way to layer up against those cold drafts.

We moved into this gorgeous old house and I’m loving playing around with the different rooms. It has this captains house vibe to it so it inspired my sailor look. It’s all about detail! Experiment with different ways to tuck in a shirt, it’s one of those key pieces that everyone should at least have a couple of options in. This is a classic Ralph Lauren button up mens shirt that I stole from my husband back when we were friends.
I’m not a major fan of wearing anything on my legs other than anything denim. It being that I’ve majorly limited my wardrobe, I decided to play around with something other than jeans and pencil skirts. Hence the little chino. I”m not sure how I quite feel about it. They’re definitely a good alternative if you’re doing something that requires a touch more professionalism.
I paired these with a cropped boho inspired top I had that has tons of detail. Lots of tiny pleats, lace etc. I should’ve added some chunky accessories to add more texture but alas I did not. You could also do a little tank like the knit one from Zara to give it a more laid back look. You definitely want to stick to something that has a lot of texture, that way you keep the interest going and it doesn’t look too plain.

Yes, yes summer did just finish and we’re headed into fall, BUT where I live at the moment it’s chilly and it feels as if winter is actually just around the corner. This is my self assessed justification in loving all things fall.
The benefit of cooler weather is that I am inspired to start building a fall wardrobe, and to stop obsessing over summer apparel. My go to item at the moment for are boyfriend cardigans and capes. I’m obsessed! Mango, Zara and H&M all have great options as does Abercrombie & Fitch (randomly enough..has anyone noticed how their style has majorly changed?)
Chunky wool knits give off a great vintage chic vibe that’ll help your summer boho style transition nicely into fall. You don’t have to wave goodbye to your suede and flared goodies yet.

Here are some outfit ideas!
I’ve been MIA for the past few weeks due to a major traveling schedule, and then being willingly stuck at my parents house, which is right around the corner from the beach. I’m not mad. It being that it’s super beachy and chill, I’ve basically been living in all things denim, cotton and bathing suit. I found an amazing pair of vintage esq high-waisted denim shorts at Loft and, embarrassingly enough, wore them for a week straight. My excuse is the beach. I’ve just never in my life worn a pair of denim shorts that was so incredibly comfortable! They have just the right amount of distressing, are supple and the coloring is perfect.
The jacket was another great project that turned out so great. Remember that denim jacket from a few articles ago? The one paired with the lace dress in the english countryside. I didn’t love the color and texture so I soaked it in a bucket of bleach water, distressed it and washed it with super hot water.
The result was this: It fit a bit more snug, but a good snug. The color was on point! A nice washed out, softer and more supple denim. The distressed pieces turned out great after a few washes too.
In this day and age, where every checked bag is charged and a girl can’t get a decent glass of champagne on a plane without having to break out the credit card, we must learn to live simply and to thrive in our minimalism. Your answer is in your tote and your carry-on. This is where you pack all your things. Forget the checked bag, ain’t nobody got time for that.
Packing for a 5 day vacation, for some, might include packing a large bag of everything you own, or for others it’s grabbing those key pieces and creating lots of different outfits from them. This is how to be that latter girl.
Here’s 5 day looks and 5 evening looks from clothing that can all fit in a carry on (and perhaps your tote..)
Let me know what you think!
I desperately needed a top for the skirt I had decided to wear and was having one of those “I have nothing to wear” moments.
I found a long sleeve black shirt I had and simply made it into a backless top, and finished it with ribbon at the top to hold it all together. So easy. So simple. And super chic.
